Fisioterapi Golf

East west Physiotherapy is delighted and excited to establish a golf injury clinic in conjunction with cengkareng golf club. The aim of this alliance is to provide specialised and specific management of golf related injuries.  Nearly all golfers now recognise the importance of getting fit in order to play the sport they love – GOLF!!

The physiotherapists will work with you in administering preventative exercises, fitness and golf posture assessments to identify any physical problems that may be affecting the quality of your golf swing or causing you pain when you play.  Individual exercise programs  will cater for all levels of golfers. Identification of problems allows you to work on these areas with your physiotherapist and manage these problems to avoid pain and a compensatory swing technique which often manifests due to injury.  your swing and therefore your game will improve.

GOLF ASSESSMENT/MUSCULOSKELETAL SCREENING

Nearly every professional golfer has their own physiotherapist to assess their bodies so that they can play to their best and prevent injury. Your physiotherapist will assess your posture, range of joint movement, muscle length and muscle strength and then analyse their findings to identify where you deviate from normal. Early detection is critical in preventing injury. Deviation from normal will eventually lead to problems with your swing and the quality and consistency of your game.

After your individual and comprehensive assessment, your physiotherapist will prescribe a tailor made exercise program to improve your flexibility and strength in order to correct specific problems  and prevent injury to all joints and muscles in your body. Having an individualised program will give you insight into how your body moves, improve your body awareness and help you organise your body in a way that is essential for playing great golf.

Your pre-game routine may include some quick warm up drill to target your problem areas so that you feel looser, yet stronger and more comfortable while playing. More specific training may be required in conjunction with your golf physiotherapist and golf pro.  Your golf physiotherapist will assess how your improved physical condition affects your game in relation to pain  and performance. Your golf pro will establish whether this improvement has improved your technical ability, namely the  quality and consistency of your swing by testing your swing changes. You will learn to assess your own body and swing and have strategies available to ensure that your technical and physical performance stays optimal AND YOU PLAY BETTER GOLF
